Noirmoutier
A few days rest on the island of Noirmoutier in Vendée, at the Ocean Book Fair (Le Salon du livre de mer) of which I'm the patron. It's being held from June 12th to the 14th and the President is the well-known writer and film producer Pierre Schoendoerffer. It's the third such Book Fair and this year's theme "The Sea Adventurers" , host to the great names of sailing and especially the "Vendée Globe" which will hold the place of honor. On the program are conferences, discussions, book signings, film distribution and Isabelle Autissier, Catherine Chabaud, Anne Liardet, Karen Leibovici and Arnaud Boissières.
Some 70 writers of various aspects of the ocean will also be present. In essence, an assemblage of distinguished personalities through a week-end highlighted by numerous meetings held in casual atmosphere. Most passions will be satisfied...A true breath of fresh air in a rather dull world. Thus, a considerable improvement!
Following this event, I'll return home and continue to assemble the pieces of the puzzle I am working on at the moment. It's just at the planning stage but I hope to give you more details, shortly... Give me few more weeks and I should be all set ! I'll go so far as to tell you that I'll be building a boat by next winter. I guess that won't surprise anyone, right ?
