As one of six BLUE Ambassadors featured in the new United Nations/Global Sports Alliance book, Champions for Change - Athletes making a world of difference, Anne Quéméré represented the BLUE Project by attending the official book launch at the United Nations Headquarters in New York last Wednesday.
Joining a small selection of other featured world class athletes, United Nations Under-Secretary, General Kiyo Akasaka and the author of this book, Jane Poynter, Anne was available for questions and joined discussions panels at the high profile launch.
Anne comments:

"There are places in the world which resound profoundly in feelings that no word can translate. The impression that it relegates far all that until now we considered as "beautiful". The ocean is one of these places. It allows us to look at our landed civilization from a distance enlightening the image of our fragility.
During my oceanic journeys, I often wondered if we could share more of those treasures with the public wouldn't it allow some of us to change a little our viewpoint about what is going on right now? May be on a small scale, some would find then reasons for hoping and the urge for acting?"
It is the hope of all involved in this project that the world community will be made aware of the severity of the consequences of global warming and climate change.
'Champions for Change, Athletes making a world of difference' costs £16.95 plus P&P. To order a copy of the book, please contact:
