On December 19th 2009 Dave Cornthwaite paddled through the mouth of Australia's Murray River into the Southern Ocean, having walked and kayaked from source to sea along the country's iconic waterway.
Dave personally totted up 1538 Blue Miles during his investigation into the Murray's status as an endangered river, but his focus on the environment was coupled with a community sport message. Over 50 paddlers joined Dave for a stretch of his journey, taking the total Blue Mile count for the Murray River Expedition to 2155 miles.
