Hello from 48°N 22°W!

Why is it that the wind is always unstable at night when I want to go to sleep? Last night was a bit tricky as the wind was up and down and shifting all over the place! I did two SUPER gybes (Tanguy L you would be proud!) to follow the wind shifts and try to sail on the best gybe all the time.

Now this morning, the wind is a bit more stable and we are spinnaker reaching along. The sun is trying to poke its way out of the clouds, which will be much welcome as it has been rather grey until now.

I have had a bulgar wheat cinnamon breakfast, which was delicious, but way too big - and just kept growing as I added more water to it!!! So the fish will finish that off for me.

I have just passed a ship to port, about 2 miles away. I had good warning as he was using his radar (which set off my active echo alarm) and I could see his AIS on my Maxsea.

Now I am going to have a look at the weather and my routing plan. The Atlantic is rather complicated right now and there are lots of traps ahead with no wind. We will have to weave our way through and try to stay in the zephyrs. Last night the front group got away a bit, the rich getting richer, as they managed to stay in front of the light wind.

Hopefully they will slow down as they touch  the lighter wind first....

More news later.
