Ben Skinner, aka "Skindog" has been surfing since the age of 3.  His parents Steve and Sarah, pround owners of "Skinners Brewery" in Cornwall, an award winning Real Ale company, raised Ben and his three sisters in Jersey.  Steve had been a surfer himself since the age of 15 and also used to be the president of the Jersey Surfboard Club.

Ben started competing at the age of 8 and took a fond view of the idea of being a Pro Surfer.  At the age of 11, the Skinner family moved to Conrwall where Ben began competing in national events and by 13 was 2 times under 14's British Shortboard Champion.  He picked up sponsorship from Quiksilver when he was 12 and began training with some of the world's elite surfers at camps around the world, competiting at competitions along the way.

At the age of 15, Ben took to the art of longboarding and decided that he wanted to do the odd longboard event.  He entered both Open and Junior events and won them both.  He started doing the BLU events and won the Junior division.  By 17 he had won every Junior and Open Longboard Catagories in every major British event.

He was then picked up by Oxbow and they started really helping Ben to do as much as possible and have supported him all the way since then.  At 23, Ben's career has only just really begun!

Career Achievements:

- 15 x British Titles
- 2nd in the World Surfing Games
- European Professional Longboard Champion
- Former English Champion
- Currently the only Briton in the top 32 of the ASP WLT, placed 17th
- Ben has been part of the British Team since the age of 13.

So what's next!

Ben is now hunting a world title.  With sheer determination and passion for the sport together with his new surfboard design, we are sure that Ben will succeed in his quest for sporting success!
