PROFESSION:          Cameraman for programmes/films such as Deadliest Catch and Morning Light.

OVERVIEW:

Rick Deppe is a multi-talented offshore sailor, currently serving in the new position as onboard media representative onboard Puma Ocean Racing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2008/9.  In an interesting twist in this event, each team will have an 11th crewmember aboard to photograph/film the adventure as it unfolds.  Deppe was the ideal candidate for the job.  As a venteran Bowman of two previous Volvo Ocean Races (Fortuna and Chessie Racing), Deppe understand the rigors of the race.  And as a video photographer for programmes such as discovery's "Deadliest Catch" and disney's "Morning Light", he has proven that he can deliver amazing footage even in the harhest marine conditions imaginable.

2007 - Transat (Rambler)
2007 - Middle Sea Race (Rambler)
2007 - Buenos Airest to Rio de Janiero (Rambler).  Set a new record time for this crossing.
2007 - TransPac
2005 - TransPac
1998 - Bowman aboard Chessie Racing in the Volvo Ocean Race
1994 - Bowman aboard Fortuna in the Whitbread Rowing the World Race.

Rick has also sailed in the Admiral's Cup, raced in no less that 7 Fastnet Race and 6 Newport to Bermuda Races.
