Congratulate Sam

Introduction

BLUE Ambassador, Sam Davies looks set to complete the epic Vendee Globe single handed round the world yacht race, during the week commencing the 09 February 2009.

Sam was one of only two women to line up amongst the 30 strong fleet of top international ocean sailors, at the start of the Vendee Globe in Les Sables D'Olonne, on Sunday 09 November 2008.  With less than 2000nm now to go, Sam is one of only eleven skippers that remain in the race and currently sits in third place - a huge achievement for any skipper, regardless of gender.

Sam has captivated us all with her daily blogs and tales of life onboard Roxy, her Open 60 yacht.  Never letting any situation get her down, Sam is a real positive thinker and inspiration to us all.

Her estimated arrival date back in to Les Sables D'Olonne is currently Wednesday 11 February 2009 and she looks set to be both the top female and top Briton to finish this awesome race.
