Less than two months after sailing 3,070 miles from Mexico to Hawaii, Blue Ambassador, Dave Corntwaite has completed yet another man powered expedition by travelling 1000.3 miles in a Bikecar from Memphis to Miami.
Dave’s Bikecar journey, the 6th leg of Expedition1000, began on 24th April 2012. Four hours in to this journey, a speeding car collided with the support vehicle which in turn collided with the Bikecar, knocking it, Dave and his fellow passenger off the road.
Luckily, nobody was hurt and Dave decided to continue with the journey despite his apprehensions of returning to the open road in the Bikecar.
On 26th May, a little over a month after leaving Memphis, Dave completed journey #6, finishing in a car park just meters from the Atlantic.
Next up for Dave is a long distance 1000 mile swim, along the lower Missouri River, USA, which he plans to start in August.
As probably one of the most difficult challenges yet, can Dave make it 7 out of 7 in his Expedition1000 series of man powered journeys? We’ll have to wait and see.
