On Saturday 31st March 2012, Blue Ambassador, Dave Cornthwaite onboard the 72ft ocean going yacht, Sea Dragon sailed in to Honolulu, Hawaii to complete expedition #5 in his Expedition1000 series of journeys – 25 non motorised journeys of a distance of 1000 miles or more.
Dave set off from Mexico three weeks ago to sail 3,070 nautical miles across the Eastern Pacific Ocean with the crew of Pangaea Exploration.
Back on dry land and fresh from his ocean experience, Dave and the crew of the Sea Dragon joined forces with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii to conduct a beach clean up of the Kewalo Basin in Honolulu.
However, Dave will have no time to rest in Hawaii, as his next Expedition1000 journey to travel from Memphis to Miami, a distance of 1001 miles by recumbent bike (a 4 wheeled bicycle) starts later on this month following a short 105 mile SUP down the Wolf River with SUPAS (Standing Up against Slavery) in aid of Operation Broken Silence.
